NSW have announced there will be two invitation pathways for the 491 visa
Pathway 1: Direct Application with NSW
· If you have been living and working in regional NSW for at least 12 months, and
· Working with the same employer for at least 12 months,
· After the date you are legally “deemed skilled”, and
· Working in your nominated (or closely related) occupation, and
· Being paid a minimum salary of $70,000 (pro rata if you are working under 38 hours per week), and
· Can meet all the other usual requirements.
Pathway 2: Invitation by NSW
If you are not eligible to submit a Nomination application with NSW for a 491 visa under Pathway 1, you may want to try being invited under Pathway 2.
You must have been residing in NSW for a minimum of 3 consecutive months, or if you are currently offshore you must have been offshore for at least 3 months.
